Welcome to Izzahara Desert Song's website. Izzahara Desert Song, known to her friends as "Swan", is a rare and beautiful dog breed called the Ibizan Hound, also called "Ca Eivissenc" or "Podenco Ibicenco", meaning "the dog with the air of a doe".

The Ibizan (pronounced "I-Beethan"), is an ancient sighthound breed that was bred to hunt primarily rabbits on the Balearic islands, one of which is Ibiza.

This site is dedicated to Swan and the Ibizan Hound. Its aim is to promote the Ibizan as a keen and specialised hunting sighthound as well as a loving companion. This site also aims to promote the conservation of the Ibizan in its true natural form as it was originally bred to be.
